Professor Ioannis E. Messinis is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist trained in Athens and Sweden. He worked in Edinburgh and Aberdeen (5 years) in the post of Senior Lecturer (1984-1990). Since 1995, he is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (University of Thessalia) in Larissa and Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology which has been accredited by EBCOG. His research interest is Reproductive Endocrinology. He has authored more than 170 papers in international peer review journals and several chapters in books. From 2000 to 2004, he was an Associate Editor of Human Reproduction. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of several international journals and a regular reviewer for more than 30 international journals. Until recently (2009), he was the president of the Hellenic Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He is past member of the Advisory (1998-2002) and the Executive Committees of ESHRE (2001-2005) and currently member of the Advisory and the Executive Committees of MSRM and the Executive Committee of EBCOG (since 2009).
